Truly the apocalypse is upon us

And how do I know?: Because, in all seriousness, the Safer Bristol Partnership is staging a pantomine called 'Goldilocks' ASBO and the Three Bears', because it wants "to get a very strong anti-crime message across to the young children".

I feel quite ill.

I am not exactly a fan of youth criminality, but I consider it wrong to punish a child that is incapable of understanding right and wrong. As to this Bristol brainstorm, how many children over the age of criminal responsibility are likely to be persuaded to attend a pantomime of any description, and especially one that doesn't "have 'im off the telly"in it?

Meanwhile, back in Croydon, I see that this year's pantomime at the Fairfield includes Crazy Frog. Haven't we all suffered enough?

The panto tradition, alas, never really took off in the Mohammedan lands. I too am suspicious of Labour and its oppressive use of ASBO's vis-a-vis the morally and ethically challenged. Their use probably generates more harm than good in a lot of cases....as a policy, its just a touch too gimmicky for my liking- "We are NuLabour, we shall protect you, Fear not proles".

A judicious mix of better schooling-especially vocational training- in deprived areas, better (or perhaps any) parenting and custodial sentences when required would be a more rational approach to dealing with youth crime in my view.

The punishment should fit the crime, regardless of the age of the person. So children should be treated like adults.

but what crimes must you have done to have crazy frog inflicted upon you?

Are you entirely certain this isn’t a bit of Panto knockabout humour which , quite honestly, would have been my first assumption.

Gordon: Where is my reputation for prudence ? ….”BEHIND YOU!!!”
David : Where is Greg Barker ?……………………………”BEHIND YOU!!”
David : Where are these people demanding tax cuts ? ……….All together..

IT - Although they did give us Aladdin...

HN - can't agree with you there. Think of the things one might have done as a child - throwing the odd punch, taking things etc etc - which one would not do as an adult. In part it is down to an understanding of right and wrong, and in part an understanding of the consequences.

CU - Hmm, I can think of a few members of this government who merit ordeal by crazy frog,

N - Groan....
