A small update from yesterday

I am shocked, shocked that the Number Ten site does not mention Blair helping London's finest with their enquiries in its rundown of December news.

These, apparently, were bigger stories:

A jaunt to the Middle East
Attending an EU summit
Opening a Sure Start centre in the North East
Being interviewed by the odious Chris Evans
Launching the Number Ten interactive tour website.

William, Just want to wish you a very happy New Year, it was lovely meeting up with you too, let's hope blogging goes from strength to strength in 2007. Look forward to seeing you on 18 Doughty Street again.

Does it mention the Grand Farewell 'Legacy' Tour?

I think Blair is just stupid enough to think people like and admire him.

Verity
The BBC are filming his last 10 days in power (for posterity). There really are people who think that the deluded pillock really is a great man.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 3:23 pm

Phitch - That is terrifying, given that he does not have one achievement to his name - other than the wrecking of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. That's probably why the BBC likes him so much.

Making a change from wheeling out Jonson again, I will risk inflaming the partisans of the romantic poets by going for another one of my old warhorses:

"Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away".

C - yes, a salvo from Mr N cannot be far behind...

daresay any website of camerons would be equally off the point .it's the way it is these days

Nick, you and I appear to have been raiding the same bran tub, judging from the episcopal blog. Synchronicity, perhaps?

RM - True, but I object to partisan websites being funded out of taxation.

I think you're all very cruel to Tony. How else is he to keep tabs on pesky malcontents than to run websites, petitions and so on?

Have a happy New Year, Man from Croydon.

Anonymous Anonymous said... 6:19 pm

Yes, synchronicity it is

either that or the effect of the weird luminosity that hovers over the CR0 postcode, that sacred plot.

From the bran-tub? a bit flippant, Mr C, I'd prefer "from the Burning Fountain".

It's the year-end, it gets to me.

Blogger Croydonian said... 6:19 pm

James - you are clearly infused with the spirit of good will to all. I'll be making my grand sign off for the year later, but meanwhile a happy New Year to you too sir.

Happy new year to all . I am saved the duty of having to get hammered and be falsely jolly. Always hated New Year myself .

My son just said his first word , he looked Tony Blair on the TV and suddenly in a clear ringing soprano shrieked LIAR !!

Nah not really he said "car". Justin Hinchcliffe tells me he is starting Blog and wishes to know how to do links. He is a full on , and it would appear full time , Conservative , ruling Tottenham and Haringey with a rod of iron . If you recall David Allen described him as so “Out , some of us wish he would back in a bit “. He was the inspiration behind the character Tory Boy and often uses the phrase “get her “ in debate . A character , no question of it and it might be worth a look , he`s quite a bit younger than me and yet cleverer so I cannot entirely extinguish a spark of malice .

I think there is a real possibility of an election next year so it might be exciting . I think I may have to have a look at Shelley , the truth is I haven’t browsed since Uni and have only as faint recollection that it was Miltonic and superficial. Still in the land of the blind…..

I hope to see C on Doughty Street and attain his hearts desire of making a living from nebulous punditry.

Good man Newmania we shall have you quoting freely from Adonais yet.

I am retreating to CR0 for NYs as Someone has run amok in Scotton Pinkney and dreadful things are being perpetrated on me there.

Blogger Croydonian said... 7:05 pm

Out of the mouths of babes, or rather the minds of their wishfully thinking fathers, eh?

I wish Justin every success in the blogging, and there's a beginners guide to HTML here, including linking. He is welcome to seek further guidance if he is prepared to post a bit....

Re Shelley, he was a bit 'young' shall we say. As noted before, I prefer the Metaphysical poets.

N - So do I....

Anonymous Anonymous said... 5:51 pm

Oh Mr Drew, I am so glad you are alive...I thought you had perished at the hands of Ms Hitchens Mills..Perhaps we can have the pantomime in the Spring? Cheers! Bunts xo

Anonymous Anonymous said... 6:34 pm

Bunty, it would seem that the village has suffered from the traditional 'jumbo-jet-falls-out-of-the-sky' year-end blockbuster episode.

No.9 was only ever a weekend cottage and I shall return (in 'glowing' health, I trust) come the spring.

[sorry about this, C]

ND - That's quite alright. I'm quite happy for other blog tales to spill over here, and Scotton Pinkney is a source of rich entertainment.
