An e-mail from 10 Downing Street

The temptation to sign this petition was just too great: "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to Resign immediately".

And with heart a-flutter, I opened an e-mail from 'team@petitions.pm.gov.uk', only to find this response: "The PM has made clear that he will be leaving office before the next Labour party conference."

How very disappointing.

However, how does one define 'conference'? There is one called the Labour Spring Conference taking place in Glasgow between the 16th and 18th of February....

I'm not certain but the Spring Conference may have been cancelled, before Christmas, on grounds of cost and a series of 'rolling consultations' (or words like that) substituted.

A special conference can always be called though.

All goes to show that you cannot believe everything you read on the USDAW site. However, there is a Welsh conference in February....

He won't be going. There will be an international emergency (that no one else has noticed) and it would be too destabilising for the country to change hands at that particular moment.

They are going to have to pry his hands off the No 10 doorknob. Don't put it beyond him to swallow the keys.
