Where your money goes

All things considered, I would reckon that there a fair few priorities for spending the military budget, and doubtless readers could come up with lists of their own .

Sticking my neck out just a tad, I would suspect that "a unique flypast over Wembley Stadium on Sunday 28 October to mark the start of the first ever American National Football League (NFL) game to be held outside the United States" would not be one of them

See, I am NOT making this up.

Presumably the costs are reimbursed in the same way that policing costs etc. are reimbursed by the event organisers???

Red Arrows, good enough for an unpopular spaort played by one country, but not good enough for the biggest sporting event we'll ever hold in a few years time IIRC?

Ingram: If no Red Arrows, perhaps the USAF might be persuaded to oblige from one of their bases here - especially since American athletes are likely to go home with most of the medals?
